ANZAC

ANZAC

Anzac is an acronym word meaning Australia new Zealand army corp (A.N.Z.A.C). it is the day when the soldiers of New Zealand and Australia fought in the world wars. The war started April 25 1915. We are  also celebrating Anzac for the 100 years since our servicemen fought in wars.
We commemorate to thank and remember the soldiers, for fighting for our nation . Although they risked their lives to protect our land and people we should be truly thankful by celebrating Anzac Day.
we also celebrate the dawn festival to commemorate Anzac. we also wear a special flower called a poppy. We wear a poppy because it is the main flower of Anzac. if we are very thankful we can make Anzac related foods like cakes and cookies.
The dawn celebration is a type of festival that starts at 4.00am and 6.00pm. in the celebration the people are taken to the war battle combat museum. When the festival is about to end people come up and say speeches and they also pray for the soldiers who died in the wars
